Kateri Chambers
Kateri began dancing at the age of three, performing tap, jazz, and
ballet. She continued her ballet training and in-depth study of
Highland, Victorian ballroom, modern, and West African dance forms.
She began belly dancing eight years ago in the San Francisco Bay Area
and studied around the United States. She now teaches and performs in
the DC/Baltimore area.
Kateri has recently returned from London where she was seen as a
soloist in a variety of performance venues and teaching situations.
She has been dancing with Egyptian Sun Belly Dance Troupe in Baltimore
since 2002, and has returned to performing in the Baltimore,
Annapolis, and D.C. areas. She is currently dancing at Marrakesh in
D.C., Tobacco Center in Towson, Zeeba Lounge in Federal Hill and
Desert Cafe in Mount Washington.
Kateri is currently teaching at Johns Hopkins University for
Egyptian Sun and at Howard Community College in Columbia. EgyptianSun
